Sometimes You Need to Look at The Relationship Again

When something is not working in your relationship, it can be hard to know what you are actually looking at.

Maybe you keep having the same argument. Maybe something has changed between you and your spouse/partner. Maybe you love each other, but love does not seem to be solving the problem. Or maybe you already know something is not right, but you are not sure what to do with what you already know.

Relationship Rethink™ is educational content for men and women in established romantic relationships who want to understand their relationship more clearly.

This is not about telling you to stay.

This is not about telling you to leave.

And it’s not about deciding or validating that the other person is the problem.

It’s about slowing things down long enough to look at the whole relationship: what is currently happening, what is the evidence showing, what belongs to you, what belongs to your spouse/partner, what can you change and control, and what can you not change or control.

There is no shortage of relationship advice. You can find information about communication, trust, boundaries, conflict, red flags, attachment, and almost every relationship problem imaginable. But knowing more does not always help you understand what is happening in your own relationship or what to do with what you already know.

Relationship Rethink™ is designed to help you move beyond simply collecting more advice and begin applying what you know to the relationship in front of you.

Sometimes the question is not “Do they love me?”

The better question is “Is this relationship actually working?”

What kind of relationships are we talking about?

We’re talking about relationships where there is already something real to look at.

Marriage, engagement, long-term relationships, committed dating, long-distance relationships, and relationships with history.

What do we actually look at?

We look at more than one argument, one bad moment, or one thing your partner did. We look at the patterns, behavior, communication, trust, reliability, expectations, outside pressures, and the choices both people are making.

What belongs to you and what doesn’t?

You are responsible for your choices, your behavior, your boundaries, and what you decide to do next. Your partner is responsible for theirs.

You can change how you respond. You can decide what you will accept. You can decide what you will participate in. But you cannot control another person’s choices, feelings, effort, or responses.

What Relationship Rethink™ does not do:

Relationship Rethink™ does not tell you to stay, leave, divorce, or reconcile. It does not diagnose you or your partner, and it is not therapy, couples counseling, or coaching.

Relationship Rethink™ can be used alongside therapy, couples counseling, or coaching if you choose. The goal is to help you look more clearly at your relationship, not replace professional support.

Who is behind Relationship Rethink™?

I’m Michelle Leon, the educator and founder behind Relationship Rethink™.

I created Relationship Rethink™ to help people take a moment, look at the whole relationship, and think more clearly about the reality in front of them.

My own relationship experiences also played a part in why I created Relationship Rethink™. I’ve experienced relationships where love, distance, culture, family, immigration, and major life decisions were all part of the picture.

Those experiences taught me how important it is to look at the whole relationship, not only one argument, one problem, or what the other person did. They helped shape the way Relationship Rethink™ looks at what is happening, what the evidence shows, what belongs to you, what belongs to the other person, and what you can and cannot control.

On the podcast:

On the podcast, I talk about real relationship problems and the questions that come with them. We look at patterns, behavior, trust, communication, family, money, distance, culture, religion, and the choices people face when a relationship is not working.

Now, take a moment. Look again.
